One in a TRILLION

Well today I tried something new. Yay me!

You know how I worship The Pioneer Woman; I have referred to her blog many a times. She often has contests and/or giveaways with amazing prizes. (I mean $500 amazing.) Currently she is having a photo contest, and the assignment is titled "MACRO."

Now... I'll be the first to admit I am by NO MEANS a "photographer." I have a little average-joe camera and have never learned anything about all the fancy tricks of the trade. I even borrowed a photography book once, and it confused the snot out of me. Despite all this, I still wanted to see if I could come up with something interesting enough and mostly challenge myself. The finalists on these assignments have some killer, blow-you-away photos. I knew technically I could never, ever compete. No matter what, it's just fun to play.

Here is my "MACRO" photo I submitted

These are 2 more that turned out kinda cool,
but didn't make MY final cut.

can you submit more than once? I like you shot. really cool concept, but the pieces of chalk are short. they are looking more like marshmallows then chalk. I like the shot you chose. the one with the soccer ball in the back is my fave though i think.

Those are actually pretty good. My only advice would be to wait until later in the day to take a shot like that when the light isn't so intense. Otherwise I like that you got down in the grass to get a "bug" point of view.
