The Completed Quiet Book

Hallelujah this is finally finished. This was the most annoyingly tedious thing I've ever made. It's very flawed, very dull in places, yah hindsight is 20/20 for me on this one. It's still cute and fun, and I'm glad I did it... but I don't ever want to do it again!

You can tell by the pictures how I did everything (pretty much.) I got all the ideas for the construction and activities from one of four places:
  • my own quiet book that I grew up with (made by my grandma)
  • homemade by jill (her stuff is unbelievable)
  • quietbook.blogspot.com (this blog is alright, but she also has a great list on the sidebar of a lot of other great resources!)
  • a few random ideas I made up to customize it just for Cooper

Now, on with the pictures!

very impressive. I've always wanted to do one. I never had one as a kid but looked at others' longingly...anytime I look at some, I become overwhelmed instantly! So, GOOD JOB!! You rock!

Seriously awesome! I hope he learns to appreciate it as much as he should! :) Speaking from experience, even if Cooper can't show how much he loves it right away, all the people in church will; the ones sitting around you will ask to look at it and play with it. :D

Oh my gosh. I WANT ONE - for me! Ok, Jonathan can look at it too. That is absolutely fantastic! Great job! Sorry it was such a pain.

Amy, you're book is totally amazing! I am blown away that you even have enough desire to make something that cool... 'cause I sure wouldn't! It really looks amazing. You'll have to hold on to that for when you have grandkids too. ;-)

And great looking pictures... of the chalk. :)

I am SOOOOO impressed! I have always wanted to tackle that project, but every time I look over the directions, I feel much too overwhelmed. I will have to check out some of the sites you listed. But I love what you did and I bow down to you, yet again!

Um, okay, you are so cool. I totally want one! I would pay good money for one of those! You are giving me the motivation to finally get mine started. I think I just might copy a lot of your pages... is that okay?

Good Job, Amy! I always wanted to make one but never seemed to find the time. I am so glad you and Lindsey have made your own - I don't think I would make time to do that even as a Grandma. I have the best intentions but ... You always amaze me. Hugs!

So very cute Amy. You should also market these at istsy bitsy (or whatever it's called). But that just might send you over the deep end. But very cute. I made a few of these in my day as well. I do like the fish bowl. Very original.
