But I'm glad I did it. They needed the help and I did just as much as my stupid achin' back would allow. It was one big packing party! (...that inevitably evolved into one big UNpacking party!)
Here's the speedy summary of the trip:
Driving, driving, driving
Much discussion of roadside wildflowers
Surprise Lindsey with my arrival - that was fun!
Packing, packing, packing
Cheesecake Factory curbside to-go
Make muffins for moving day
Grandma Pat snores
Next day: I get to do little girl hairdo #1! Dang, didn't get pics of this one, but it didn't last long anyway.
Packing, packing, packing
Moving truck arrives and the men get loading
Don't want to fit a mattress through a narrow stairwell? Why, go ahead and drop it off the balcony...

See? Easy as pie.
Eat really great pizza on the back of the truck
At new apartment, they unloaded pretty darn fast
Us women talk furniture arrangements
Sleep pretty hard that night
Next day, unpacking, unpacking, unpacking
Hairdo #2 - squeeeeeeeee!

Check out those blonde curlies!
This was the only way she would hold still for a picture!
Alphabetize all the movies in the cupboard
A run to Costco for supplies
I set off car alarm trying to get our spoils from Costco up the stairs
Dinner - our first non-restaurant food in a few days, ahhhhhh.
Grind a few nuts and bolts around in the new disposal
More supplies at Target

Call me crazy, but their Target is 2 levels, and that's just cool.

...mostly because the escalators have nifty things that take your cart up or down for you!

Happy/Exhausted Busy Bees!
That night I made everyone these Apple Fritters. All I can say is Heaven help us all! Them R Good. They are the perfect marriage between a homemade donut and homemade apple pie. (And quite easy to make!) Mark my words, they WILL be making an appearance in my kitchen again, and it may or may not be this Friday.
Sunday morning - zzzzzzZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz
Hairdo #3 for church

Cute family at their new home

All of us ladies!

Last stop: Spudnuts to bring home to Jason!

I wish I was a little more sporadic... I think I miss out on too many fun adventures. That was nice of you to lend a hand (and an achey back). :)
whew!
Whew is right! You get double brownie points - once for helping someone move and once again for driving to another state to do it! You rock Amy.
And that escalator for the shopping cart is awesome!!!
hmmmm spudnuts grlgrlglrlgrlglrglr
HOW FUN!! I love spontaneous little runaways!
And I loooove that 2 story Target! How rockin' is that!?!?
Amy...you seriously need a girl. You absolutely are queen of the cute do!!
Great synopsis of the trip! It makes me tired again to think of what we accomplished. We all LOVE Lindsey, Malcom, and Bekah (and baby to come). Thanks for coming along but I think we talked about more than just wild flowers. :0) Remember you slept most of the way! and grandma is astonished at your snoring remark. :)
I love the pictures of my little girl's hair! :)
Thanks again for ALL the work you put in. You were awesome!
FUN!! I love going to CA and could go this weekend with Scott, but it wasn't working out very well so he's going alone....so sad!
We'll just have to plan a trip for summer time!!!
Wow you ARE a busy little bee. How nice of you to give a helping hand.
When first going through your blog I didn't look too closely at the escalator pic and I thought, I can't believe she put a cart on an escalator, I'd be afraid of getting in trouble for that. Then I read and looked closer at the picture. That's pretty darn cool. Why aren't there more Targets like that around?
Wow...BUSY! And you do adorable hair, which is amazing since you get so little practice on your boys! ;) You can come help "love my house" and do my girls' hair ANY TIME!
You are an awesome sis-in-law. Sounds like a crazy fun weekend. But you really went just so you could style Bekah's hair, right?
