This is Tera.
She was born on August 30, 2001
to my brother and his wife.
Their first and only girl.
I saw her twice.
Both times in the hospital.
She never got to go home.
She had many congenital heart defects
and lived just 13 days on earth.
This will be the 9th year that our family has raised money for the March of Dimes in Tera's memory. Over the years and over 4 states, our little "Team Tera" has raised over $21,000!
Please help us this year by donating at our family's website. No amount is too small! If every friend and family member offered just FIVE DOLLARS, our goal will be easily met. Click below to make a fast and easy contribution. Of course if you are more comfortable, you can always contact me personally. THANK YOU!!!
The mission of The March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

You know, you are the very first person I remember when I woke up from anesthesia, Amy. You are the one I remember standing next to me when I woke up in so much pain and in sheer terror for my little girl. You are the one I remember reassuring me that she was OK and telling me how beautiful she was. I'm pretty sure that other than Jason, you were the first to see her.
Thank you for honoring her. We do this for her... and for 2 of her brothers who also have birth defects... and for she and a brother who were born prematurely... and for every mother who has had to sit with their baby in a NICU or their child in a PICU, spend countless hours in doctor's offices and surgery waiting rooms, and/or bury their child and say goodbye for a very long time. No mother should have to do any of those things... and maybe someday with enough research, she won't have to...
