It's been quite a while since my last post (well, quite a while for ME.) For some reason I did not feel up to putting myself out there for blogging (or facebook-ing) much lately. Yes, we've been busy, but it wasn't really that. I don't know what my deal is. My social confidence is sorta in the gutter right now.
We had some fabulous times over the last few weeks. It was WONNNNNDERFUL to have Jason off of work to be with us, and I know he enjoyed it too. Since there's no way I can report it all - and really, who cares about the details anyway? - here's the quickie run-down:
- 23rd we had a "Christmas eve" with my family. We had a buffet of yumminess. The kids sang, Angie and Tyler sang for us, and Santa came!

Bye Santa! Which way did he go???
- 24th we had actual Christmas eve with Jason's side. A beautiful sit-down dinner and LOTS of present opening since Grandma was leaving town the next morning. Holly announces she's preggo with #1! Gosh darnit I'm kicking myself for not taking a single picture!!! I think I even had my camera the whole time, not sure how that happened, but now it's looking like I play favorites. Purely an accident, people.
- Christmas day - what needs to be said? It doesn't matter what else happened, these little faces were the best part.

- We prepared our traditional Baked French Toast Casserole the night before, so we sat down to an EASY but fancy breakfast.
- 26th Jason and I saw Avatar. Ohhhh it's good but made me quite seasick. I'm stupid like that. Lindsey was awesome to babysit! We thanked her by leaving some leftover spills in the oven from our Christmas morning breakfast to set off the smoke detectors.
- 27th We attended our last week of 2:30pm church - now that calls for an AMEN!
- 28th Took all the kids to see Alvin and the Chipmunks.
- Somewhere in here I watched 2 more rentals w/ my mom and sisters.
- 30th Attended my sorority girlfriends' annual Christmas party. There are some FUN personalities in this group which always makes for a great night of catching up. I ate a bacon-wrapped prune (??? weird, but not bad) and learned a lot about chickens.
- 31st We hosted a New Year's eve party with my 2 BYU gal pals and their families. Temple lights, s'mores, video games, Settlers of Catan, and food food food.

- 1st Met Lindsey and Malcom at Chili's for lunch w/ our kids. Yay for cousins! Lindsey and I did a little shopping together afterwards.

- 2nd Had all of Jason's side at our house for family dinner. We ate like kings again. Got to chat with Gary and Holly about baby/pregnancy stuff.
- Went hog-wild making frozen drinks (and when I say "drinks" I mean the family-friendly kind...) with my new kitchen gadget. Seriously, I'm in love.
- Last but certainly not least: this season has also given us many tender moments: A miraculous answer to prayers, opportunities to serve and be deeply touched in the process, and some time to simply be together with special people. I enjoyed these MOST of all, but my blog is not the best place to share the details. I'm grateful to KNOW that Heavenly Father is looking out for us.

What a great Christmas. I thought about doing your bursting through the wrapping paper idea this year, but it never ended up happening. I also really wanted to take the kids to see Alvin and the chipmunks, but didn't make that one either.
So what's your new kitchen gadget that you are in love with?
A. I want a slushie!
B. Who didn't put on 20 lbs
C. I need your French Toast recipe... it sounds good.
How fun. All of it. I totally want a slushie, unless it has something to do with your insulin pump. ;)
I'm with you, I'm in a blogging slump. For me, I think I just got a little lazy partying for so long during the holidays.
I would like to see Avatar but I'm afraid I might get a little nauseated. I love that picture of the boys running toward the little train table - my favorite part is how Cooper is ahead of everyone! :)
So your sorrority sisters don't matter, what about the 30th??????? It was good to see you Amy, I am glad that we all got to talk and eat such good food with Melissa and Rachel
Sorry Farrah - where's my head?!
I have now updated my list to include our night. :)
I think I found your 20 pounds over here! ;)
I, for one, loved all the details even though I know this was the abbreviated version. I won't comment on everything, except to say I LOVE that you sat on Santa's lap and Rah Rah for Settlers of Catan! ;)
Busy girl!!
Sounds like lots of fun family/friend time, Yay for that!!!
I love the Christmas morning pics of the boys running to the train table. So cute!! Looks like Cooper was skidding to a stop just before he crashed.
Cute!
