The Gray Quilt

The beast is done and delivered!

This quilt was for my husband's cousin and his new wife.  Since it was a wedding gift for the both of them, I tried not to make it "girly."  They also have a 9 year old son, so it's not too "fancy" either.  Something all purpose for the whole family.  What a fun design this was to put together!  I will definitely use it again, especially for something masculine.

The back of the quilt is possibly my most favorite "back" yet!
(It was originally what I was considering for the front,
but then when I saw the other layout, I couldn't decide.
So why not use them both?)

A close-up of some of the fun fabrics.

This is the first time I have tried 2 different fabrics in the binding (the edge of the quilt.)
It alternates between the 2 you see above.
I only did that because the quilt was originally a bit smaller,
but my husband came in and said "Make it bigger!"
So my fabric that was purchased for the binding
ended up not being enough.
I just used what I had rather than buying more.

I forgot to measure the exact finished size, but I can tell you that it covers my queen size bed completely,
with a few inches hanging over the edges on all sides.
All fabrics on the front were purchased at Hobby Lobby.
The 2 grays on the back were from Joann's.

Love this! I like that it looks like sashing, but it's not really sashing, because I officially HATE sashing--not the way it looks, just putting it together and getting it to line up is the worst! Great job, as always. :)
