Time for some PINK!

I have 2 long-time friends that are having baby girls this summer - YAY! Time for girly presents!

For this first quilt, I faced my challenges with respect to the design aspect of putting many different fabrics together. I STRUGGLE with this! I know what colors will match and such, but I have no idea how to put different patterns next to each other without it getting crazy. But I don't want to be so "safe" that the opposite problem occurs and it's too boring or matchy-matchy. I'm learning a few things... hopefully some day I'll get there.

I also tried something new by making a ruffle edge instead of a binding. Who doesn't love a ruffle??? It made the quilting a bit more challenging, but on a size this small it worked out OK.

Butterflies on the back...

The BEST part of this quilt is that I made it using about 60% of fabrics right out of my personal stash! Horray for leftovers! The recipient of this one says pink is not her most favorite, so I hope all the other colors make the pink more bearable. (Crossing fingers!) The finished size is 40" x 40".

The next quilt was given away yesterday. This mom is all about the pink, and the SASS! So even though it's a bit of an assault on the eyes, I love it! hahaha I'd like to try this square design again on a bigger scale.

Also measures 40" x 40"

I really like the ruffle. So cute! And I love EVERYTHING about the second one. I think the binding you picked is perfect as well as the backing. So good!

I love both of the quilts. The offset brick style is one of my favorites...no matching corners!

I've never made the other style...now I'm thinking of trying it. Thanks for all your ideas.

I LOVE them! I don't have a favorite - I think I need an excuse to unpack my sewing machine again and do a quilt like one of these!
