1. Wondering how many people recoiled in horror at that last post, hahaha. Hopefully not too many. Come on, it was funny!!!
2. I haven't posted about my older boys in.... well, forever. They had their last day of school today - ACK! Now what? The house will feel so FULL now. Some quick tidbits about my buddies:
Mitchell - SO GROWN UP. Third grade is all finished! He loves to help me out, whatever the task. There is not a toy on the planet that will entertain this boy; he no longer wants to "play" with anything. I don't know quite what to do with him!? He told me last night, "I can't wait to be a teenager, but then I'll have all those pimples." HA! Poor boy, hopefully he doesn't get his mommy's skin. He loves to read by flashlight every night before falling asleep.
Tucker - Thank goodness for the sweetest, most patient kindergarten teacher! He keeps me on my toes, keeps my hair nice n' gray, and keeps his belongings nicely sprinkled all over the house! When I went to NY, all he wanted was a "Statue of Liver-ty." I delivered, and boy-howdy that kid was excited! He spends most afternoons putting on LAYERS of clothes and calling that his "superhero costume." He sleeps sweaty and smothered underneath about 100 stuffed animals every night.
As a surprise gift for their good grades, we got these boys the inflatable slide you saw a few posts ago. Hurray for something to do this summer right at home!!!
3. Things that I'm happy about:
- My bed. I love my bed. It's comfy.
- 8 more days until my anniversary. Maybe a date night??
- A new raft (like a blow-up boogie board) from the dollar store. Makes the BEST bath pillow. Don't laugh until you try it :)
- A massage I will be scheduling for this weekend. Yessssss. Thank you, spafinder.com gift card from my mother-in-law! given for my b-day 3 months ago. shame on me for not using it sooner!
- Warm weather is here, which means the huge influx of old people are fleeing back to the north! ...bless their hearts.
- So You Think You Can Dance is back!
- Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters. Ahh! Forgot how much I loved that movie! (bonus points to the first person to name the reference!)
- Those cheapo wildflower bouquets you get at the grocery store. Not that I don't appreciate the gesture, they just make me sneeze more than I can enjoy their, um, semi-ok beauty.
- The little catch-a-fish-with-a-magnet-while-it-spins-around-and-around game. UGH what an annoying noisy mess of a toy. I'll just go ahead include here, ALL annoying, loud toys with a million pieces that just get lost.
- Tried to make homemade tortillas recently. And I STUNK! Rrggg. I don't like stinking at things!
- All of my summer clothes from last year are too tight. That really IS a good thing (a miracle!) but I'm discouraged at the thought of needing to afford a bunch of new clothes.
- People who don't answer their phones. On purpose.
The end.

I don't like noisy games, either. What parent does? Take me with you to your massage!!! Aaron gave me one the Christmas before Lizzie was born and it was h.e.a.v.e.n.! Nice to see other things happening in you life besides Cooper's poo. ;)
I love your pet peaves! Hilarious!!
I really don't appreciate the gifts people give your kids that include an obnoxious toy, especially when they think they're so funny and clever for doing so....if only they knew they were one tiny step away from being "phased out".
Great list. Enjoy your date and massage, lucky you. i can't think of a better way to start the summer.
"That Thing You Do" ;-)
Love the updates on the boys. Mitch wants to be so grown up--doesn't he realize that once he's older he'll just want to be young and carefree again?!
Tucker sleeping all hot and with 100 stuffed animals is GARY, all the way. So funny!
Happy Summer! I hope you have a great time with your full house. I bet it will be a lot of fun.
Oooh a massage! I've never had one of those. After the pedicure, I'm feeling brave so maybe I'll try it one day. The fact that it's free has to make it that much better! :)
It was good to hear about your other boys too. "So grown up" just about covers it for Mitchell.
Your pet peeve list is funny. I gotta say though, if my phone rings and I'm in the middle of something or don't feel like running to answer it, I don't. Just cuz people call me, doesn't mean I have to answer. It's not like I don't have an answering machine, which is exactly what would be answering my phone if I didn't happen to be home. The only thing better than an answering machine is caller ID, because one of MY pet peeves are solicitors/poll takers/politicians who call my house and then expect me to listen to a recording. Um, I don't think so people. ;)
I hope you do something fun for your anniversary!! :)
