A Not-so-Prosperous Day

I am sad to report that this morning's holiday boutique was pretty darn slow. We got LOTS of compliments and interest at our table, but not a lot of sales. Can't say I'm surprised, but I'm still really disappointed. geeeeeeezzzzzz

My sister (more about her later) had to leave town on short notice for a funeral and was unable to come sell her stuff. My awesome, selfless, amazing friend Deb came along as a willing substitute. It was hard work, unloading everything and setting it all up, only to RE-load all those heavy blocks back into the truck when they hadn't sold!!! My never-ending thanks to Deb for all of her help! (I still owe you.)

Since the glass blocks can light up, we had to figure out a way to plug in about 20 things into one outlet all at the same time. You can't quite tell here, but these are double-decker stacked plus another loaded extension cord not in the picture. It cracked me up because it reminded me of "A Christmas Story" where the dad has a million plugs in the wall....

Here's our whole display table in all of its GLORY...

So what now? I have 37 Soft Light Swords and 2 little boys just ITCHING to steal away with them and play, play, play. So I beefed up my Etsy shop. That means I listed a whole bunch more items and hope that they will sell there. Well within 2 minutes (I'm not kidding, it was only 2 minutes later) I sold another "trio" of light swords online. Ka-POW! I like Etsy. If you haven't visited my shop yet, here's the link ohhhhh, ONE more time:

Now, for my sister Kim. That poor girl had a MUCH bigger initial investment ($$$) than I did. Consequently, her items for sale are MUCH more beautiful, fancy, and impressive than mine. Plus, the bulk of hers, the "glowing glass block presents", are a seasonal item. If she doesn't sell them in the next few weeks before Christmas, she's screwed. To anyone who's reading this and still has some holiday shopping to do, won't you please consider taking a look at such a beautiful decoration or gift. They make a great display on a table-top, window sill, or shelf, OR you can put them under your tree as fabulous lit-up presents until the REAL ones arrive! There are many other colors and sizes other than what she has listed so far, so if you have questions or requests -- just ask. (Also, if you live nearby, no need to pay the shipping, just contact me/her to purchase and we'll deliver!)

Thanks for listening to my pleas! Tell a friend!

That's awfully nice of Deb. Glad Etsy came to your partial rescue... that's gotta be a bit frustrating!

Sorry it was so crappy! I hope your stuff sells like hotcakes on Etsy!

Hey I meant to give you $5 on Sunday, but I forgot. I wanted to pay you back for the breakfast and fudge. I felt bad that you paid for it. You shouldn't have to "OWE" me ANYTHING for helping you out. That's what friends are for!

I LOVE Etsy! And looking at your blog makes me miss our visits SO BAD. We need to get together. I can't believe how big Jackson is getting.

I'm so sad for you guys that not much sold! Especially with all those blocks Kim's got to sell.
Hopefully she'll get some Etsy sales though!
How much are your hats? I think my girls should have matching fleece hats to wear.....you know, in case it may get cold enough one day to actually use them!

Would you and Kim prefer Etsy orders or direct orders to you?
