Cooper's New Favorite Thing

Wedging his fat legs through the bars on the crib
Getting them stuck there
Crying for rescue!

Forgive me Mom, I'm just too cute.

He has done this a few times now in some very inventive positions. I had a little flashback to when Mitchell was my only child. He was a little older, old enough to talk, because I remember hearing him cry "stuck!....stuck!" one day near the end of his nap. I walked in the room to find his one leg squished between the bars nice and tight. At first this is cute and funny (such as the pictures above), but soon he was really crying and really stuck. I couldn't budge it, not even a tiny bit. I called Jason (at work) in a panic asking for advice. He said if I had to, I should call the fire dept. so they could saw the crib rail or something. After a few more minutes, I ALMOST did just that, but an idea dawned on me. I grabbed the pump of hand soap out of the bathroom and "greased" up his leg, nice and slippery. After the soap had a second to get inbetween there, with a little more tugging and twisting, it loosened and finally slipped free! What a relief!

Maybe my trip down memory lane will be helpful mom-advice for one of you in the future....?

I so thought you were going to say you got the tub of butter out to free him!

And how cute is Cooper? Seriously!!

I'm the type of mom that totally panics. I probably would have called the Fire Dept. after about 30 seconds. How impressive that you kept your head on your shoulders and avoided an embarassing situation with the firemen (I have two embarassing times when they rescued me after I locked my kids in the car with my keys--twice! Yes, I'm a dork!).

One of my kids did that too! I am at a loss to remember which one it was. I was getting scared too at not getting them out. I think I tried vaseline and finally freed them.

debHe is so stinkin' cute and that is soooo funny. Well probably not funny for you, but those pictures crack me up. The first time I babysat my nephew (by myself) he got his head wedged inbetween the top bunk bed and the wall and was just hanging from his head. Once I got him unstuck, I rocked him and cried the rest of the night because I felt soo bad. Now to think of it, it makes me laugh.

That salsa looks yummy! I made mango salsa last week for dinner (to put over chicken), but I've never tried PEACH mango salsa.

HILARIOUS!!!
Raegan used to do that very thing. She'd poke her little legs thru the bars, and then get them wedged in real good and tight (don't really know how with the twigs she calls legs) and then scream and cry to have me rescue her.
I have a few pictures of her like that too. But it did get old real fast when every nap time ended that way!

It takes special talent to get TWO legs stuck! LOL. He's such a cutie. Thank goodness you didn't have to call the fire department!

David did that too. only his little knees would get stuck and he would start screaming. look at my comments from a few of your other recent blogs.
