Photo Tag

Thanks Lindsey - this one was so fun! Mitchell REALLY got into it. (Go see his blog -and photos- the link is on my sidebar.)

Take a picture of each item to let us get to know you better:

1. Your key chain

Pretty ordinary. But I will say I bought that carabiner in 1993 and it's still going strong.

2. Your favorite edible treat in the house right now

I could eat these by the truckload and never get sick of them.

3. Something that you're proud of

I recently got this compiled and printed out a nice bound, laminated copy. It's all my favorites. Always a work in progress.

4. Your favorite wall hanging, picture, or piece of art

This one is a tie. I simply could not decide. The first pic, the twin paintings, are something a wonderful friend painted BY HAND for me. She copied them from a real artist's work that you've probably seen sold in stores. They are each 16x20 and hang in the family room. I cried when she brought them over all completed - it is such a privilege to own something that her own hands created. The second picture is a photograph I took. It's a tree that grows right near my neice's grave. I love the leaves newly sprouting on the tree and the view straight up to the sky, it just has a lot of meaning to me. My bro-in-law was kind enough to blow this up to poster size and I hung it, frameless, in my bedroom. I lost the actual file (or the digital equivalent of the "negative") for this picture when we had a hard drive crash a few years ago, so if our house were ever on fire you'd better believe I'll be grabbing this one off the wall!

5. Something in your yard that makes you smile

OK, so it's leaning waaaay to the side. AND it's shriveled up pretty bad from the heat. I am so excited that I grew these little bitty tomatoes on my first attempt. As you can see, there's whole bunch on there, not including the whole bunch I've already picked and enjoyed.

6. A current project

I am putting some boxes together to send. One is a care package for Taylor who recently sent us a box of goodies. The other is an Avon order to hurry off to Lindsey! I HATE going to the post office with children - ugh.

7. Worst pair of shoes

These beauties are the only flip-flops I have ever found with arch support. So they may be ugly, they may have a spot where the dog chewed them a little, and they may make the bottoms of my feet a bit black, but I wear them. A LOT. If anyone out there ever sees some comfy flip-flops with a big ol' arch in the sole, please pick me up a 6. Or call me. Pronto.

8. Oldest thing you own

I have this box of dessert dishes that I begged off my mom, who got them from my great-grandma. So I think they must be kinda old. But they are timeless!

9. Something from your childhood

Sisters, remember these relics?

10. Three of your favorite DVD's

1. Far and Away. It's just good.

2. The Truth About Cats and Dogs. This one is a crack-up, and the message is great. Fast forward one scene, though, rrrrg.

3. The Devil Wears Prada. Feeds my New York fetish!

Tag: Erin, Angie, and I especially would like to see Roccy's version of this. Since you're not "home" right now, it should be extra interesting/challenging!

Okay, I love that tree picture. It's amazing! I also want a copy of your cookbook. Are you willing to share? That is such a good idea.

I don't think I could ever get sick of Reese's Pieces either.

I just now noticed your "pet" in the sidebar. When did you put him up there? What's funny is I found those virtual pets about a month ago, and toyed with putting one on my blog (I chose the monkey too) but chickened out at the last minute. The monkey was the best one. Good choice! :)
