My New Outfit

Sorry to interrupt this blog, normally full of garbage and/or the sound of crickets chirping, for something productive!  I actually made something!

I got on a crazy sewing kick this week and got out some old fabric I had purchased last year (!!) to make myself some clothes.  I've had my eye on this skirt tutorial for a long time; so glad I finally attempted it.  I found Jessica's blog last summer when she was the gal running that craft competition I was in.  She is pretty amazing, let me tell ya.  Now I want to make a dozen more of them - so comfy, easy and fun!  For the shirt, I was winging it by tracing around a favorite shirt I already owned.

Gee, that looks kinda blurry.  I blame the 11-yr old who took it.

So I can't decide if the top needs to be worn untucked (above)
or tucked-in (below)

I guess tucked-in is not really in style right now,
but it seems a shame to cover up all that fun shirring
that I worked so hard on!

And pockets!  Can I even explain how fun it us to have pockets!?

Here's closer up of my homemade t-shirt.
Nothing fancy, but this is the FIRST TIME I've ever had a stretchy neckline turn out well,
so I'm pretty dang proud of it.

Looks great and I love the print you chose! I have the same debate when I wear these, to tuck or not to tuck. Great job on the knit top as well. Can't believe you had major surgery and I'm glad you're getting back to sewing, as I'm sure it was the last priority for some time!
