I hadn't even realized that my 4-week mark would fall exactly on Valentine's Day (although I'm finishing writing this a day late!)
Things have taken a turn for the worse, although not really related to my surgery. We have a lot of sickness that hit our house very suddenly. While it's not fun being sick, it's especially difficult not being able to help my own children when they are. (I tell ya, how much can be asked of one man?) We are hoping the last of it passes quickly and I can manage Mr. Cooper the rest of this week. However, as if right on cue and truly as a blessing from above, I have had SO many calls to visit or help just in the last 1-2 days, I have lost count! I'm actually turning people away because I don't want them to catch any germs right now, but it sure is comforting to know that as soon as we're ready, there's a whole bunch of people waiting to come over.
Other than that, each day is a dull blur. For me, anyway. I wish I had something else to talk/write about!!! I have become so boring that sometimes I feel like I'm talking to the wind on here. (Hellooo o o ? ? ?)
So if nothing else but to further drive home my point, here's more stupid stuff about a typical day for me:
I usually nap AT LEAST once.
I try to go on a walk around my street (I'm supposed to walk 3-4 times a day.)
I only shower every other day because it's still quite a production.
I've learned to wash my face and spit out my toothpaste from 2 feet above the sink, only semi-successful in not getting it all down the front of me!
I get a phone call from my sis-in-law Lindsey... EVERY day she calls me. She is an angel.
Before all the sickies, I was crocheting a lot of hats and baby booties. (Anyone need a hat or baby booties?)
The kids are great about helping me reach things down low or that I dropped.
My big long incision no longer has any bandaging over it. And it itches like a mother!
Until next time!

I have to admit, the call every day is helping me too--ADULT conversation in the middle of my day!!! Love it!
Please tell me you have one of those long-arm grabber things, the kind that old people use to reach stuff. I think that would be good for dropped stuff too!
I don't think this is boring at all. Plus, in a few months it will probably be hard for you to imagine what life was really like during this recovery. Itchy means healing, right?!
;love this little post! As boring as you may feel, it was quite interesting to me! :)
For what it's worth, I only shower every other day too--and I didn't just have surgery. And I dribble on myself as well.
Hope those sickies leave your house and you can resume some sort of normal!
Glad you are healing, (itching is a good thing from the nursing perspective). You are amazing. I would love for you to post pics of those baby booties, I'm sure they are adorable.
Found your blog from a pin on pinterest (the carrot cookies!) and thought I'd look around. Bless your heart, what an ordeal. Just wanted to wish you a speedy recovery. Not being able to help your family really is the worst feeling but I'm sure they're all getting big blessings from helping you out!!
