Birthday Pillows

Another birthday gift checked off my list!

My sister's decorative pillows on her couch are 14+ years old (she actually inherited a couple of them from me when *I* was going to throw them away.)  One of the recent times I was at her house, I pointed out how they had holes and completely threadbare spots on them.  The stuffing inside is flattened and lumpy.  The fabric is suuuuuuper old fashioned.  Their ship has sailed.  Actually it sunk.

This is how our conversation went:

ME:  Your birthday is coming up.  For your present I'm making you some new pillows.

KIM:  What if I don't want new pillows for my birthday?

ME:  Too bad.

Hee hee - sorry Kimmers!!!  Yesterday I delivered the goods.  She had picked out the adorable new fabrics, which I purchased and sewed.  Kim was nice enough to buy all her own pillow forms (to stuff in there) so I ended up causing her to spend money towards her own birthday present.  I know, I'm the BEST sister ever!

These are the BEFORE pillows, complete with holes and "Grandma's curtains" floral print

NEW pillows!!!  Fluffy, clean, and modern!

It was nice of you to help bring Kim out of 1995. ;) New pillows are such a nice, cheap-ish way to spruce up a place! Good job!

How funny that I also just bought the same green fabric to make a pillow. Great minds...

My mom has chairs made out of almost that same fabric. Ha!
