Roo

Once upon a time, I had a baby. While growing in my tummy, 3 different times along the way, the doctors had me fear that you were dead or at least severely deformed. 3 times we found out they were completely mistaken. WRONG. (You always were a drama king.) I could only gain 16 pounds due to the low-carb diabetic diet and worried constantly if you were OK. Then late one night it was time for you to arrive. 2 and 1/2 weeks early, my water broke at home, which was not at all like you see in the movies. We were short on sleep, and Daddy even got the stomach flu that next morning (nice timing.) The labor was 3 hours flat. Quick & short but horrific! I had pain relief for a whopping 2 minutes of that 3 hours (at least they were the most important 2 minutes?) I only pushed one time and the doctor just pulled you out, you were so little. You were born at 5 lbs, 10 oz. and perfectly fine. It turns out you were just destined to be tiny like your mommy (sorry about that.)

Ever since that day, you have been a mover and a shaker. You never wanted to be held. You never wanted to be little. You instantly morphed into a little sidekick for your brother and wanted to do everything he did. You obsessed over everything superhero. Your crazy imagination and sparkling personality have provided us with a LIFETIME of hilarious stories already. We love being around you because you just make everything fun.

I don't ever want to forget:

how you said...
"Mine-a-mee" for Spiderman
"Single-sangle" for triangle
"Shampoop" for shampoo
"There's a fruit bone in my drink!" (don't ask, we never got it either...?)

or how you swung from the bars on the bunk beds like a monkey when you were just a baby

or how you got to meet "Buthhh" Lightyear on your 3rd birthday and eat at Pizza Planet

or how happy you are with the littlest things. An old cardboard box, some "free grass" to go run on, or the last inch of my drink I bring home from shopping.

how you are SO excited, never disappointed to get hand-me-downs of any type. You're rarely jealous or competitive. If Mitchell picks the blue one, you happily shout out - "I get red!"

how Mitchell was hurting and crying one day and you ran to your room all freaked out. You jumped on your bed and said 3 prayers for him and no one even knew about it.

Here are some pictures of Tucker and his special monkey. Since his due date was Valentine's day, I bought it for him while still pregnant. When I look at it now, it's hard to think that monkey was BIGGER than my little boy! But see for yourself...

I like how he is sitting next to the same monkey doll in each picture to see how big he's grown. :) Happy Birthday to Tucker!

I like that quilt (in the next post). I don't sew quilts anymore without flannel or fleece on the back. Love it!
