2 cartoon references in one post

Yesterday was a total crap-fest.

As in, I felt like I was the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.... I ruined everything for all the Who's down in Whoville... I stole the roast beast.

Thankfully, those Who's are resilient people. They don't care about all that fluff, they are joining hands in a circle in the middle of town singing "Fahoo fores, Dahoo dores!" and we can still enjoy Christmas after all.

Yah, the stress of the season is getting to me just a little.

Last night I was trying to take it easy and cheer up. Jason asked what would I like to do that would help me feel better. No "work" just something for fun. Hmmmmm.....? I decided I wanted to get started on one of my homemade Christmas gifts. (There won't be as many homemade things as I had hoped, mostly due to the fact that we drew the names of all the stinkin' MEN in the family!!! No offense guys, I just don't think you want ruffly scarves or flower necklaces.)

So here's what I made last night -- and it TOTALLY did the trick. I'm all cheered up and so dang excited about how cute he is!

For those of you who don't have Nick Jr. running 24/7 like we do, it's Dora's backpack, whose name is, appropriately enough, "Backpack!" It's for my 2 year old niece and will be wrapped up with little Dora toys inside. Woo hoo!!!

VERY cute! As ever, I am blown away by how naturally talented you are with that sewing machine. And I bet you came up with this pattern all on your own too, right?

You are the COOLEST aunt. E.Ver. I love it! Sorry you've lost all the cute fun-ness because of drawing guys' names.

Really awesome! I could've sworn Backpack was a girl, but the voice sometimes seems surprisingly ambiguous!

And I can't believe that was a fun stress reducer for you. I wish my stress reducers were more productive. I would've just zoned out infront of the tv with icecream. That always makes me happy.

P.S. I've been a grinch too. Christmas is too stressful.
