Hello. It's been a while. Missed me? I haven't been blogging much for 3 reasons.
Reason #1: My headaches are back. If you know me well, you might remember that back in 2006 I had a huge problem with migraines. I had a horrible debilitating headache for 9 months straight. Every single day for 9 months. I tried medication (lots of very scary ones), I went to 2 different neurologists, I had a CT scan of my head, I tried natural supplements, I tried physical therapy on my neck, I tried exercise. Finally they went away, by nothing short of a miracle.
I've had a few less severe headaches since then, but usually few and far between. Last week they returned with a vengeance. After one horrible night where I thought I was going to die, I can't seem to kick it completely. Everyday has felt like a physical and emotional battle since I'm totally freaked out that I'm back in 2006 again. I cannot go through that again.
Sooo.... the typical me-thing to do is try to distract myself. I purposely try to do things that make me happy. (I might as well be doing something I love with a headache, than just lying there with a headache, right?)
And that leads us to Reason #2: I'm making stuff! Nothing like chasing away gray skies than getting your craft on. My niece just turned 8 and needed some accessories for her baptism pictures. My sister Kim and I stayed up late working on a headband to match her darling white dress. You can't really see the whole flower, the center of which is an awesome sparkly button, but I think this picture is my absolute favorite.

I've also spent some time making a quilt to be the bedspread for another niece in California. She's getting a big-girl bed and a total bedroom re-do to welcome her little brother that will share it with her later this year. Yay! Lindsey has chosen all the fabric and design, I'm just the laborer :) OK, and interjecting random opinions here and there. Here's most of the quilt top. The majority is done and this sucker will be coming together FAST!

Reason #3: Last but not least I have yet ANOTHER niece who will be born any minute now. Like, she's at the hospital getting gelled up as we speak. (TMI? hee hee) This is their first baby, so I decided to make the new parents some freezer meals and snack foods to ease their first days home from the hospital. They got a whole box of yummy food and dang, my kitchen has been a mess!!! I'm not complaining, it was really fun to do and I sincerely hope it helps them. I'm just saying, if you haven't heard from me in a while, chances are I was doing dishes.
Gee, it's a good thing everyone related to me has girls for me to dote on, huh? Otherwise I would drown in my own self-pity. Thanks - Love you gals!!!

I'm really sorry about your migraines. blech. But isn't crafting fun!? I just got back into bows (again) and a quilt myself, and have myself thoroughly occupied. (Aaron complains that it's not 'occupied' doing dishes or laundry, but hey, I get some fun sometimes, right?) Hope all your distractions work!!
The first 6 months of this year I had debilitating headaches day in and day out. It was awful. I've had bad headaches since I was 7. I feel for you! It's horrible. That's one big reason why I'm so lousy at planning stuff/getting together because a headache is sure to rear its ugly head and prevent me from doing stuff. You are amazing to do projects in spite of them. Dang gurl, you tough.
Could they be allergy related? Been to an allergist? Food or environmental? Bah, I don't know - just another angle to explore. I hope you get it figured out!
So sorry about the headaches, but all your "distractions" are beautiful, and I'm sure the meals will be very much appreciated!
Typical Amy. . . . Always doing something for someone else. I'm so impressed by you. Sorry about the headache come back.
You are amazing! You are such a sweetie to do things for others despite how you feel. I hope these headaches go away and you figure out why you are getting them in the first place.
You really ARE amazing! I am so impressed with all you do and all the ways you help others!
Hope those headaches ease up-
am thinking of you!
Ugh, I hope your headaches go away. You make some fun stuff, I love seeing all the stuff you make for others.
