My New Ball n' Chain

Say HELLO to my little friend!

Yep, this is my new look. Ignore that high-fashion outfit there --woo-ee!-- I'm talking about my new insulin pump.

Here's what it looks like OUT of my pocket. That little tube leads to a lovely little patch where it's stuck inside of me and delivers the insulin quick and easy. Yay no more shots 4 x a day! I'd show you a picture but well........ it's, as Forest Gump would say.... in the but-tocks. I move it every couple of days. It's pretty dang nifty, and it can do a lot more things than I ever realized. I just got back from a follow-up appointment with my Endocrinologist, and I got a 2 thumbs up!

Get a load of ALL the paraphernalia it came with!

Oh wait that wasn't all, here's the rest. Sheesh!

Next up: we'll be building a new wing onto the house to store all of this.

Needless to say, it was rather overwhelming at first. (ESPECIALLY when the thing wasn't working and kept giving me alarms all day.) But I am up and running now, and I think I'm really going to love this little sucker. Even if I DO have to be attached to equipment for the rest of my life (that's a very disturbing thought, let me tell ya) I think it will all work out.

Hmm, 4 shots a day or being attached to a little machine... what a decision! Glad you are enjoying your new friend.

PS You shoes in that picture are really cute.

Fun new little companion you have. Has it gotten in the way yet? When you don't have a pocket do you just clip it onto your pants/skirt waistline?

And I think that would be awesome if it did check your email for you, maybe even blog for you too! :-)

My sister was just diagnosed with diabetes. She's slowly but surely trying to get it all figured out and her body regulated somehow.
She got the insulin pen today.

I hope you like your new little gadget. Gotta love this day in age. :) Also I love the table runners. SO cute. You are so darn good with the sewing machine. ALSO, don't let me forget - I want to buy some soft swords from you. I wasn't at church this Sunday, so hopefully this coming Sunday if you are there too I can order some? :)

Amy, Congrats on the pump! Your blood sugar will be so much better regulated and that's so important! Love your posts and I check your blog often!
