Turkey for you, and a Turkey for me!

(anyone remember that song?)

Well we've had a wonderful Thanksgiving break so far. I woke up the day-of with a sore throat and sinus headache, but it seemed to pass after that first day (thank goodness!)

We had our big Turkey dinner with my side of the family. My assignments were rolls, mashed potatoes, and corn. I'd say that was pretty easy (another "thank goodness" since I was feeling lousy.) Anyway, Cooper put on his special shirt for the occasion and we were off!

Here's the whole gang, taken with my camera's self-timer. Not shabby for a timer picture!?

Then we went across town to Jason's parents home. We had pie with them and watched the movie "Up." Um, well, I slept. Sorry about that. Splitting our time between 2 families is kinda no fun, but really we can't complain because it means we get to see everyone. I'd rather have ALL my family around than none of them. Hands down.

Since then I have had 2 days of some marathon Christmas shopping. Good deals, good fun. I waited in line for nearly 2 hours to have some little pittance of fabric cut at Joann's. Boy Lindsey, you'd better LOVE your Christmas table runner after all that!!!!!! But seriously, I'm very excited about some of my awesome finds, and a big THANK YOU to all the ladies in the family that joined me.

I have given myself a few days off from sewing, my own little "holiday vacation" if you will. My Etsy orders are a'flowing in, swift and steady! Holy cow are my little arms TIRED of stuffing, stuffing, stuffing. Now that I've stopped working for 3 days, I have a few orders backing up which means I'll be working like crazy on Monday to catch up. Yeah, let's not think about that right now. In happier news, I calculate that I have made $238 just in the month of November. AND THAT AIN'T BAD. I like that I can soften the blow of Christmas expenses through these little inventions and help us do a couple of charitable things as family traditions, too. Yay Etsy! (Have you told a friend about my soft toys for boys yet? You can even post a link to my shop, I promise I won't hate you for it.)

Jason took the older boys out today for some shopping of their own, and they were gone SO long I got a million things done around the house. What better gift can I ask for??? Now we are going to get crafty and make some very cute ornaments together......

Pictures to follow - IF they turn out!

Sounds awesome! Glad you had a good Thanksgiving weekend. I waiting in the cutting line at Joann's for two hours, as well. Maybe I only waited for about an hour. But still!

Glad you had a great Thanksgiving. I'm loving the dad takes the kids shopping while mom get a lot done idea. I can REALLY use that. But I guess that means the dad has to be home first! Bummer! Can't wait to see the Christmas table runner.

It's so hard to split Thanksgiving between two families. I hated having to do that, because everyone wants you with them. That's one bonus to living out of town on the holidays. You don't have to worry about dividing up time and hurting feelings.

Can't wait to see the ornaments. I was thinking about making some with my kids too, but I don't know what yet. Make sure you post them so I can get some ideas.

P.S. Ian and I started watching "Drag Me to Hell" last night, and we didn't even get half way through the movie before he made me turn it off(:
