Distractions

Here's what I've been doing lately...

TA DA!! The Rainbow Quilt

I've been working on it in spurts over the last month and a half. Sometimes I get really gung-ho and sew like crazy, and then I stall. I'd say the whole thing is about 2/3 done now. Not quite the home stretch? I had higher hopes for this baby than are actually turning out, but I suppose I'm still pleased with it.

Here's a better angle to show you what went wrong. See how the rows don't line up??? That's something that I'm going to need a LOT more practice at. (Although I don't really know how it happened... rggg) Oh by the way, it's covered in safety pins because it's about to get quilted, and they are holding all three layers in place so it doesn't shift around in the process.

The backside will be a dark blue denim. But I found a denim that's very lightweight and soft -- feels like flannel! It will be about twin-sized when finished (60"x90") and the design and color scheme was supposed to make it more of a playful, juvenile type. Despite the flaws, I think it will be just that! I'll post more pictures when it's all done.

Awesome! Good job Amy!!
I wouldn't even worry about it not lining up, nobody will ever really be able to tell but you, it looks great!

Ooh! It looks even better than I imagined it would! Totally worth the ten hours in the Walmart cutting line with the ancient arthritic store associate, right?

I think it looks great. I wish I was working on projects. Oh, wait! I did some skirts this summer that are very, very fun. But other than that I don't make time for this. I wish I did!!!

It looks amazing! And those little flaws are what will make the blanket special later:)

Looks so good! If you hadn't posted the photo of it with the blocks in a perfect line, I wouldn't have noticed that they weren't 100% correct. No one will be able to see it, honest. :)
