My Saturday Fun

This weekend I was asked to do a really cool favor. The brother of my brother-in-law (follow that?) is getting married and ready to get announcements printed. At the last minute, their photographer cancelled, so as a true act of desperation they were given my name as someone who could take some amateur pictures. Woo HOO! I was sooooo excited, because I love taking pictures. But soon reality sank in and I was PRETTY nervous because wedding announcements are a big deal (!!!) and I did not want anyone to get overly confident in my abilities. I did NOT want to screw this up.

So we had our little photo shoot this past Saturday afternoon, lasting all the way until sunset. Andrew and Staci were such great subjects -- so easy-going and photogenic, not to mention patient with me. (They were pretty good at snuggling up and making dreamy eyes at each other, too. Gee, what's that like?)

DISCLAIMER: I have several friends, many of you fellow bloggers, who are actual "photographers" with fancy equipment, actual training, and snazzy software up their sleeves. I realize that none of this holds a candle to you! (Maybe someday I will take a class...) But overall, I'm thrilled with the results and I hope the happy couple is too!

Here are my favorites, it's a 6-way tie between all of these.

That last one is perfect for announcements. It just says "Aaaaaaah." So sweet. :)

Those are all so great!

Now I know who to ask to take our family pictures(: Just kidding, like you need to do me ANOTHER favore. I'll try to keep my "Will you's?" to a minimum, but your just so talented.

You did great! I actually think the 4th one has good composition. If it was cropped in a little bit and the colors adjusted and it would be perfect. The last one is really cute too.

Isn't it fun to be challenged in a different way?
